    General Information

Parent guides to help your child

We have produced a number of guides to the curriculum to inform parents how their children are taught in school.

We hope that the guides will help parents and carers support the children’s learning at home.

Please click on the links below for information about how to support your child with their homework.

Reading is a vital skill that must be learnt in the early years of school. Our guides to reading in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 give information on how reading is taught and the resources that are used as well as how you can help your child at home.

Phonics knowledge is important to become a good reader.  Please click on the Introduction to Letters & Sounds document on the right hand side of the page,  many thanks – Year 2 team.
Calculations in mathematics – many parents find the methods used in school very different to those they learnt. We have produced 2 guides to the stages of teaching calculations we use in school to help parents.
