About Newbury Park Primary School
Caretaker (Site Manager) Pay: Grade LBR 5 (35 hours per week, 50.14 weeks per year)
Newbury Park Primary School is a large 4FE school serving a diverse multicultural community. We are focused on providing quality professional development for staff, through internal coaching and mentoring and collaborative school partnerships.
We are looking for dedicated and reliable staff to join our Premises Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our school by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
In this role as a School Caretaker, you will help provide a safe, efficient and effective learning and working environment for students and staff and help in maintaining high standards and contribute to the aims of the school. The school needs a School Caretaker who possesses a proven track record of providing top-quality and efficient site maintenance ideally within a school setting and competency in DIY skills.
The role may require overtime to cover our long established community lettings.
Key Responsibilities
- Good Timekeeping: Arriving on time to manage the daily opening of the school.
- Reliability: Consistently dependable, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Porterage: Lifting and carrying equipment, furniture, and other items as needed around the school.
- Maintenance Tasks: Performing a range of general maintenance tasks, including painting, basic repairs, and ensuring the school premises are in excellent condition.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Check: The successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced DBS Check, including a barred list check.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience of working in a school environment (preferable but not essential)
- Knowledge of site maintenance
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
