Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Weeks: 41 weeks per year (term time plus 3 weeks)

Reports to: School Business Manager
Newbury Park Primary School is seeking an organised, proactive and reliable Finance and Administration Officer to join our busy and supportive office team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial and administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast paced school environment.
Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will support the effective financial management of the school while also contributing to the smooth running of the school office.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
• Support effective financial systems, accountability and budget monitoring within the school
• Process purchase orders, invoices and payments using the school’s finance system
• Manage petty cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records
• Support the accounting and monitoring of government grants including Pupil Premium and Sports Premium
• Assist with income and expenditure relating to school trips, lettings and fundraising activities
• Support cash collection, reconciliation and banking procedures
• Assist the School Business Manager with monthly and year end financial processes and audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with the school’s finance policy, scheme of delegation and SFVS requirements
Administration
• Provide administrative and reception support as part of the school office team
• Respond to enquiries from parents, staff and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
• Support the leadership team with administrative tasks as required
• Maintain accurate systems and records including inventory control
• Contribute to the efficient running of the school office and wider school operations
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Have experience of financial administration, ideally within a school or public sector environment
• Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Be confident using financial and administrative systems
• Be able to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment
• Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and excellent communication skills
• Be a proactive team member who contributes positively to school life
